We're a people who desire to worship God the Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit, through our lives. We're a people who desire to call others to follow Jesus, on a life and world changing journey that will usher in Father God's kingdom of peace, justice, mercy and love, across all the nations of our earth. We're a people who desire to live life fully as God intended by cooperating with the Holy Spirit, by whose power and support we can live such lives. Jesus Christ is our hero, our example, our Lord, our Saviour and our soon coming King who will reign over all the earth. BUT we're also a people who struggle, celebrate, fail, laugh, don't have all the answers, get tired and weary and toot in busy traffic (sometimes). We're on a journey but we're not there yet. The good news is as you follow Jesus, the destination is secure and assured. Come and join us! Our weekly 10:00am Sunday Morning Service is held in the Epping Memorial Hall and you can download the message from the blog or iTunes if you miss the service. February SpotlightLast month as I shared about fasting I spoke about spiritual disciplines (of which fasting is but one). Can I encourage each of you, if you haven’t already done so, to plan disciplines into your weekly schedules. If what I shared did not convince you then consider this – the words disciple and discipline comes from the same root word and means “taught one” or “trained one”. As disciples we are to be committed to Jesus and that means following Him. Along the journey we ought to expect to be taught and trained to walk as our Master walked. I can assure you this is what the Holy Spirit is beckoning all Jesus followers to enter into. Discipleship means discipline. Consider the following disciplines (not an exhaustive list) and rate yourself based on them “ not happening”, “occasionally happening” and “regularly happening”. Identify the disciplines that are not regular and commit to improving your discipline across two or three of them throughout 2012.
